The challenge

The publisher needed a fast, credible home for 26 open access journals, where authors could find the right journal and readers could reach articles from anywhere.

The approach

Built a full-stack platform with Next.js and Contentful, so the editorial team manages journals, issues and articles in a CMS while the site stays fast and search-friendly.

What I built

  1. 01Server-rendered pages with Next.js for SEO and fast first loads
  2. 02Contentful as a headless CMS for journals, issues and articles
  3. 03Journal pages with ISSN, DOI prefix and indexing details
  4. 04Manuscript submission, membership and author instruction pages
  5. 05Responsive design that works on every screen size

Outcome

The platform has published 1,100+ articles from 6,000+ authors across 50+ countries.

What I learned

This project deepened my experience with content modelling, SEO for academic content, and building CMS-driven sites that non-developers can run.
